Groundskeeper/Barn Help neededin Canton/Alpharetta for six-stall barn on 22-acre property. Stall cleaning is 5 to 6 days a weekSeptember 2nd through May 1st, including weekends and holidays ifthe holiday falls on one of your agreed upon days of the week. Pay is doubletime on holidays and holiday shifts can be as brief as 3 hours. During thesummer months the focus turns from stall cleaning to major jobs around thefarm. Job includes, but is not limitedto: stall cleaning, driving manure to manure site, churning piles, turning out andhandling horses using Parelli Natural Horsemanship (which you MUST be willingto learn if you do not know it), maintaining large areas of grass, pastures,and seeding; maintaining and mucking pastures, repairing broken fences,dragging and maintaining arena; cutting overgrowth of weeds from pasture fenceline, taking/returning 3 garbage cans weekly to street for trash pickup, makingrepairs on property, barn, and home as needed, pumping water at times from ourcreek to pastures and lake, and maintaining neatness and condition of property,barn, and home. Knowledge on how to operate and upkeep farmequipment is strongly preferred. Reliability,ability to speak and clearly comprehend English (for the safety of our animals),conscientiousness to detail regarding the cleanliness and appearance of the grounds,barn and home are essential. Must haveintegrity, sound character, and absolutely love animals. Starting pay is $16 perhour with a 3-month probation period, with yearly raises based on performance.
