This Intern position will reside within the Electric Systems Product Cost Group of Collins Aerospace. We are seeking outgoing candidates who want an opportunity to learn, work hard and gain valuable work experience within the Aerospace Industry. This position will support a wide variety of tasks within our Product Cost & Transition Teams. Candidate will work with a highly experienced cross functional team of individuals to complete critical transitions and projects that have a direct financial impact to the company.
The intern will be part of the Product Cost Team and will work directly with the Design to Cost (DTC) and Transition teams. The DTC Team supports the Electric System’s business unit for product cost reduction on part transitions, tracking of cost for development programs, data collection and reporting to executive management, and cost recovery of production programs.
Heavy data analysis and reporting, creation of charts and executive presentation material
Support tracking of product part transitions
Support of cost kaizen events (action tracking), data preparation and analysis
Development of Standard Work documents for internal departmental processes
Manage department’s internal web sites for collaboration (SharePoint site)
Provide data and/or communication for should cost analysis
Provide support for Product Development teams and Program Office
The Transitions Team supports Electric System's product transitions between Collins Aerospace manufacturing sites including China, Poland, and Germany. The team provides support for project management, data mining, technical issues, material planning, quality and logistics.
Data mining, analysis and reporting for team
Technical data documentation (including export paperwork) and transfer to manufacturing sites
Assistance in problem resolutions
Assist with passport presentation slides creation and presentation
Assist with project tracking
Export of drawings and models, review of Engineering prints, generate engineering changes
Assist project leads with logistics and project management
This position requires you to be currently enrolled in an accredited institution, actively pursuing
an undergraduate or graduate degree. For undergraduate students, you must have at least 30
credits completed by the start of work.
