Position Summary:
Leads the Quality Management team at the Ashburn facility to ensure material and related services for North and Latin America regions comply with EASA Part 21 implementation rules. Communicates and reinforces company goals, safety practices and operational objectives in line with the Company Management System (CMS). Candidate requires a high degree of knowledge of air carrier operations, regulatory systems and brings a proven record of quality leadership. Additional requirements include strong skills in mentoring and development of staff.

Primary Responsibilities: 90%

Ensure the activities and processes for products covered under the POA are managed in accordance with the Part 21 management system and Production Organization Manual
Create an inspiring team environment, with an open communication culture
Listen to team members' feedback and resolve any issues and/or conflicts
Recognize high performance and reward accomplishments
Encourage creativity and employee self-development as well as collaborative working practices
Manage product certifications, which include keeping detailed records of KPIs and advising management on non-conformance to KSI's
Provide encouragement to team members identifying areas for new or recurrent training
Develop strategies to promote team member adherence to performance goals and continued development
Conduct weekly team meetings to update members on current operations, best practices, support expectations and promote a speak-up culture.
Ensure functionality of operational equipment and that physical working spaces meet or exceed the company's standards
Support the Quality Director and perform management duties when director is absent or out of the office

Skills and Qualifications:
Proven team management experience, Aviation knowledge and industry experience, Leadership skills, Strong oral and written communications, Motivational skills, Results oriented, previous employee training experience and Self-motivation with relationship building.

BA/BS preferred
Technical Trade School

Seven to ten years of experience in a production, maintenance, or airline environment with Aircraft Systems or Aerospace Engineering Structure, including CFRP, and ageing aircraft requirements
Five years of supervisory experience inclusive of a candidate's total experience

Licenses / Certifications:
FAA Airframe & Power Plant License or Military Maintenance Certification
USA Passport
Valid Driver License

Knowledge, Skills, Demonstrated Capabilities:
QMS familiarity with AS/EN 9100 and AS/EN9120 standards
Knowledge of Federal Regulations: Title 14 - CFR 21, 26, 39, 121, 145, EASA Implementation Rules: Part 21, 145, continuing airworthiness subpart M and the bilateral BASA MAG, which are required to maintain global regulatory compliance
Communication Skills (Spoken, Written, Influencing and Proficiency in Other Languages):

English language and ability to communicate clearly and concisely with the written word

Power point

Travel Required:
10% Domestic and International

US citizenship is required

Ability to analyze complex documents and exercise judgments that aircraft products meet their design criteria, manufactured to approved design data and in a condition for safe operation on civil aircraft
