HVAC Controls Start-up/Installer
Automation Project Supervisor
7:00AM – 5:30 PM, Monday – Thursday
- Overtime hours as required*
Minimum of 1 year of experience required.
GENERAL PURPOSE OF JOB:
Installation of Building Automation Systems including supervision of others as directed by the Automation Project Supervisor.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Read and understand detailed plans and submittals as related to specific HVAC installations of equipment and building automation systems.
Provide installation of control enclosures, control wiring, power wiring and conduit as required per the project drawings.
Install, Connect, or adjust thermostats, humidistats, or timers.
Provide installation of controls as necessary to ensure complete operation of newly installed and existing equipment and building automation systems.
Provide final termination of all control wiring as necessary.
Assist Project Manager with startup and commissioning of building automation systems as necessary.
Complete all paperwork as required to document installation.
Provide troubleshooting, warranty and DOA repairs as necessary and all required paperwork.
Maintain a good working relationship with all customers and coworkers and represent Newcomb & Company in a positive manner.
Maintain assigned vehicle in good condition and maintain / monitor all assigned inventory and tool levels.
Electrical and/or Security background a plus.
All installers typically load and unload materials for projects and move these materials into place at the project. This may involve movement carrying a load in tight and difficult situations and on uneven terrain.
All candidates will be required to climb and work off ladders and aerial lifts as required to accomplish their work within buildings and on roofs. The majority of all work takes place in position, not on the ground.
All candidates will be required to assist in the setting of equipment with the aid of a crane, boom truck, outdoor forklift and other types of construction vehicles. They should be certified in the operation of an outdoor forklift. They should be familiar with the proper handling of suspended loads.
All candidates will be familiar with the safe operation and capable of using hammer type drills and similar tools.
Environmental conditions may range from outdoors at all times of the year to indoors at normal office conditions to indoor utility plants.
Should be reasonably physically fit and capable of picking up a 60 lb. tool, piece of equipment or piece of material and moving it about either on a jobsite, at a vendor or our warehouse. Other physical job requirements include those in the table below:

This position requires the ability to walk and climb stairs and ladders. This may include tight and difficult situations and uneven terrain.
This position includes occasionally assisting loading or unloading materials in the warehouse or stocking safety equipment and supplies.
