What You Will Do:
The successful candidate must have the ability to perform tasks associated with server and storage administration in an enterprise-class environment to include support of Microsoft Server based platforms at various facilities.
The Senior Systems Administrator will be required to serve as the lead on specific projects or O&M activities.
They may be assigned some leadership tasks and responsibilities, which will require strong communication skills.
Responsible for direct interface with the Data Center Manager and government officials who support data center and systems operations.
Responsible for monitoring and enforcing data center regulations, policies, and maintenance items for the federal agency under the authority of the agency IT leadership.
Ensures that applications and infrastructure support activities are in full compliance with all federal-wide OMB and agency policies and procedures.
Coordinates with the Data Center Services Manager to maintain enterprise server and application systems.
What You Need:
Minimum of 5+ years of enterprise IT systems administration experience at a senior level
The ideal candidate will have the practical experience and technical skills to accomplish the following:
Manage datacenter facilities and server infrastructures (Required: Windows 2008-2016, VMWare, HPe Synergy, HPe 3PAR SAN).
Perform system maintenance and patching using WSUS/ SCCM.
Collaborate/ interact with Customers to gather technical requirements for the implementation of new technology solutions.
Possess excellent troubleshooting skills to lead/ participate in Major Incident and Problem Management activities to ensure Customer SLAs are met.
Create and maintain mirrored lifecycle environments (Dev->Test->Prod).
Respond and remediate security incidents in collaboration with the Cyber Security team.
Communicate technical issues to both technical and non-technical end users.
Maintain and provide developers and users with proper access to local, staging and production systems as needed.
Design, develop, implement and coordinate systems, policies, and procedures.
Ensure security of data, network access, and backup systems.
Act in alignment with customer needs and system functionality to contribute to organizational policy.
Identify improvement opportunities and lead/ participate in engineering solutions to address issues/ challenges.
