ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Work with subject matter experts to develop online courses both synchronous and asynchronous
  • Work with a wide range of multimedia software including audio, video, web, animation, and photography to develop layout design and concepts for online instruction
  • Develop instructional web and media-based interactive learning tutorials, demos, training modules, presentations and social media posts. Lead TSBVI social media committee
  • Use Google Classroom to create courses and conduct research to identify potential applications for new and emerging instructional technologies
  • Collaborate with co-workers on departmental and campus wide projects
  • Work with office staff on student admission and enrollment tasks including support for teachers new to online instruction from across the state
  • Create best practice and procedural manuals for workflow processes; collaborates with STP staff and other campus wide departments
  • Ensure consistency, accuracy and compliance with required standards
  • Attends work regularly in accordance with TSBVI leave policy
  • Complies with all applicable security and safety rules, regulations and standards
  • Performs related work as assigned

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in instructional technology, instructional design, e-Learning design and development, educational technology or educational media design is required. Relevant experience may be substituted for education ...
  • Three (3) years of experience working with e-learning and blended learning programs, web-based training development, and asynchronous learning content
  • Proficient with Office and Gsuite products, social media systems, and Mac and Windows operating systems
  • Knowledge and experience with a variety of Learning Management systems such as Canvas, Blackboard
  • Skills in communicating technical concepts in non-technical terms. The ability to convey a message orally and in writing using proper grammar is a basic requisite for this position
  • Skill in cooperating and working as part of a team with other staff
  • Skills in the use of web and media-based technologies for education
  • Knowledge of instructional design principles, online course development standards and procedures

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master's degree from an accredited college or university
  • Accessibility experience and expertise; Knowledge of Federal Accessibility standards and W3C code validations
  • Experience as a classroom or assistive technology teacher
  • Project management experience
  • Experience using web-meeting platforms
  • Knowledge of foreign languages, specifically Spanish, and/or sign language
  • Advanced coursework in multimedia, graphic design, and Web design
