SCAD seeks a committed, experienced triage counselor to join the counseling and student support services team in Savannah. This position is integral to clinical service access to the counseling center.
In this role, you will serve as the first point of access to mental health services at SCAD. You will communicate with and assess the needs of students, as well as determine if an immediate risk is evident. You will partner with existing staff members to connect students with services needed immediately or by appointment, and you will act as a screener for risk.
Qualified candidates are exceptional written and verbal communicators and demonstrate stellar interpersonal skills that allow them to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team. A firm commitment to multicultural competencies is a must, as are strong clinical and risk assessment skills and the ability to maintain a flexible yet highly organized working style. Successful candidates possess a wealth of experience to draw on when determining the appropriate modalities of care, such as individual, group, and couples counseling and assessment. Experience providing crisis intervention, triage, and care coordination to young adults is vital to this role, as is experience working with diverse populations and a demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively within a large mental health services agency.
- Master’s degree in counseling, psychology, or social work
- Experience with electronic records and scheduling, preferably Titanium
- Experience working a college or university counseling center
- Independent license in Georgia, and the relevant licensure for the appropriate clinical field of psychology, social work, or mental health
