Key Accountabilities
Responsible for the efficient movement of materials between warehouses and customers to reduce downtime in production and minimize customer errors/complaints. Logistics Lead will be responsible for performing any operational function necessary to ensure production as well as any customer order is fulfilled accurately and in a timely fashion under the direction of the Logistics Manager or supervisor.
Responsibilities
- Maintains proper operational adherence to the company SOP’s, attendance policies and safety policy.
- Performs training of all new hires in BRC, GMP and ensures Forklift Training completion.
· Other duties as may be assigned or volunteered for.
· Ensures all equipment is in good working order.
- Ensures seamless shift changeover if directed by Logistics Manager (i.e., Operational Shift Summary/Transfers/Releases/etc.)
- Based upon daily production/transfer/inbound/outbound schedules will determine proper assignment of hours to handle workload and minimize any production down time and carrier detention fees.
- Make sure any release requests to appropriate facilities have been made if there is an immediate need for materials for current day production per the Supply & Demand Coordinator.
- Verifies and corrects quantities used on daily purchase orders to match quantities counted by Inventory Specialist. Investigates any large discrepancies.
- Verify BOL’s to receiving reports from outside cold storage and investigates differences.
- In absence of Shift Manager, verifies attendance records for hours worked for logistics department and submits to payroll department and temporary agency for processing.
- Reviews final production schedule for next day, verifies in-house quantities of raw materials and ensures all release requests are placed per the Materials Counter for the following day.
- Reviews next day material needs with Packaging Materials Coordinator and Raw Materials Coordinator to assure arrival in a timely manner to meet production demands.
- Helps fill in for the shipping clerk as necessary.
- Make any appropriate movement of finished goods with the Supply & Demand Coordinator to assure sufficient levels of product to meet scheduled outbound loads.
· Communicates with customers, carriers to develop inbound and outbound schedules to comply with the warehouse operations.

Skills, Experience & Qualifications
- Good general math skills.
- Good communication skills.
- Ability to read/write/speak English.
- High School diploma or equivalent, bachelor’s degree preferred.
- 5 years of experience in manufacturing environment.
- 5 years of experience in the shipping and receiving department.
- Computer literate and knowledgeable in Excel or other spreadsheet applications.
- Must be able to effectively communicate with many departments and management levels.
- Must be able to multi-task as a working lead and support person within the managerial functions.
- Must work in freezer environment of -10 degrees.
- Must work in a refrigerated environment of 32 to 40 degrees.
- Must work flexible hours.
- Must work in non-air-conditioned environments.
- Must be able to lift 75lbs.
Food Safety/Quality
- Report any issues regarding food safety or quality to supervision and/or quality assurance.
· Report any risks or any evidence of unsafe or out-of-specification product, equipment, packaging or raw materials to a designated manager to enable the resolution of issues requiring immediate attention.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $21.00 - $24.00 per hour

Experience:
- Warehouse experience: 2 years (Preferred)
