At Halls Kansas City, the Administrative Assistant II provides direct day-to-day support to Halls’ General Manager and Human Resources Manager. This position also provides indirect support to all department managers and staff within the store, and is viewed as a leader and point person in regards to policies and procedures, customer service issues, scheduling, and all HR inquiries.
As Administrative Assistant to General Manager:
Performs all administrative duties.
Coordinates scheduling and appointments.
Functions as liaison with customers and employees.
Collects and records sales data and other financial information on a daily, monthly, and yearly basis.
Maintains files of confidential company records and correspondence.
Works on special projects and other duties as assigned.
Will gather, print, and distribute reports, complete expense reports, answer phone lines and route calls as necessary.
Performs all other duties as assigned.
As Administrative Assistant to Human Resources Manager:
Inputs payroll for all hourly selling staff.
Researches payroll problems.
Screens applicants and recommends qualified applicants for interviews.
Conducts new hire orientation including POS training and benefits enrollment assistance.
Troubleshoots POS issues.
Assists department managers with monthly schedules by filling open shifts with on-call and seasonal staff.
Performs all other duties as assigned.

High school diploma, GED or equivalent
At least 1 year of administrative or clerical experience OR 2 years of retail experience
At least 6 months Human Resources Experience
Experience in Excel, Word and PowerPoint. Testing is required.
Typing at least 50 WPM. Testing is required.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS NEEDED
Associate’s Degree or 2 years of college coursework
Excellent organizational, time management and communication skills
Good problem solving skills
Extremely detail oriented
Ability to exercise mature judgment when dealing with sensitive/confidential material
Exceptional teamwork skills
Ability to handle pressure in meeting deadlines
Good initiative and ability to be a self-starter with minimum supervision
Must be able to sit for prolonged periods of time (70% of time is spent sitting at a desk/computer).
The basic schedule for this position is Monday through Friday with the occasional weekend and/or evening shift(s).
This position is located in Kansas City, MO - no relocation will be provided.
