The Global Clinical Manager serves as a medical resource dedicated to designing and developing an integrated clinical service model for the Disability and Leave Service organization.

The ideal candidate will have a strong medical acumen alongside strategic business vision and exceptional people management skills. The Global Clinical Manager position must understand medical diagnoses, ICD-9 codes, and the impacts that may challenge employees in performing essential job functions at Amazon. The candidate must demonstrate the ability to effectively depend upon their clinical expertise, but translate their expertise into long-term strategies that result in actionable business initiatives. Individuals with experience in leading clinical operations, overseeing and conducting peer reviews and a background in utilization management are strongly encouraged to apply.

Additionally, this person will exhibit exceptional communication and organizational skills, superior attention to detail and an ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment. This individual will demonstrate strong analytical and critical thinking skills, along with customer service focus that employees expect from Amazon.

The Global Clinical Manager may provide individual case management for sensitive accommodation and disability life events, but the role will primarily serve to build the vision and strategy for a fully integrated disability and leave management program. This role manages all aspects of clinical consultation, and implementation of regional processes and procedures to achieve optimal employee productivity and experience. The individual in this role must have strong self-management skills, a desire to knowledge share and an ability to translate medical consultation into favorable results for the company and employees. As the clinical model grows, the Global Clinical Manager will manage a team of six clinical colleagues.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop our clinical product vision and strategy for Disability and Leave Services
  • Hire, train and retain a team of 6 employees
  • Work cross-functionally to define, plan and provide medical evaluations to DLS operations, and Appeals unit.
  • Collaborate with project management, operations and all departments in the preparation of clinical development plans
  • Identify program risks, and create and implement mitigation strategies with operations
  • Develop opportunities for innovation to increase effectiveness and quality.
  • Work with our operations, appeals and vendor teams to create new integrated clinical management model
  • Travel up to 30% domestic and international
Preferred Qualifications
  • Must understand regulations under FMLA, ADAAA, EEOC and OFCCP and various state and local leave of absence laws.
  • Experience working in a disability, workers compensation or clinical operation
  • Demonstrated ability to think and communicate from a large scale operations perspective
  • Experience navigating a large organization and engaging multiple stakeholder groups with varying levels of clinical knowledge
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to develop, track, and improve key performance metrics and analyze historical data to drive key strategic decisions
  • Must possess excellent communication, and organizational skills.
  • Must be able to exercise sound critical thinking and problem-solving skills and execute position responsibilities with minimal guidance.
