Knowledge Services is seeking a Network Administrator/Network Engineer to support a 4 yr IT Services and Infrastructure Program in the Research Triangle area of Raleigh/Durham, NC. Great long term opportunity!

The Network Administrator/Network Engineer Responsibilities include the support, installation, implementation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of WAN/LAN networks.

Significantly improve delivery of IT services to optimize mission performance
Ensuring the agency has an IT infrastructure that is reliable, flexible, scalable, and efficient
Increase network and systems availability, reliability, and performance
Design the computing environment to meet the evolving needs of the agency while also achieving cost efficiencies
Continuously improve the security of the IT assets
Implement lifecycle planning throughout IT systems
Standardize development by maximizing the use of open source, commercial, and government assets where appropriate
Improve the processes between different contractor functional teams, e.g., application engineering and system administration teams, so that that they can build, test, and release applications and systems faster and more reliably
Ensure compliance with all federal and agency rules and regulations.
The Network Administrator/Network Engineer Requirements include:

B.S. in Computer Science, Information Technology Management, or Engineer OR Four years of related experience may be substituted for the education degree requirement
Minimum 5 years of experience supporting the installation, implementation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of agency wide-area networks (WANs) and local-area networks (LANs).
Experience assisting in the design and management of the WAN infrastructure and any processes related to the WAN.
Experience providing Production Support of the Network, including: day-to-day operations, monitoring and problem resolution client Networks. Provides second level problem identification, diagnosis and resolution of problems
Experience supporting the dispatch of circuit and hardware vendors involved in the resolution process. Supports the escalation and communication of status to agency management and internal customers
Knowledge in various software systems and architectures, communications protocols: and network hardware devices.

Physical Requirements:
Job frequently requires sitting, handling objects with hands.
Job occasionally requires standing, walking, reaching, talking, hearing, and lifting up to 25 pounds.
Vision requirements: Ability to see information in print and/or electronically.
