HEDIS Technical Writer Job Summary:
Gather technical and process information through research, interviews of subject matter experts and reviewing technical requirements.
Organize information and use it to generate clear and concise deliverables which are accessible to end users.
Write technical documents and generate other deliverables such as user manuals, training materials, how-to guides, process guides, job aids, and operating and maintenance instructions.
Ensure completeness and accuracy of published work by adhering to established standards for order, style, formatting and terminology.
Develop and/or maintain online help documentation.
Maintain records and files of work and revisions and post finished documentation on SharePoint pages.
Attend project meetings and provide input as needed as a stakeholder responsible for documentation.
Manage documentation projects to ensure timely delivery.
HEDIS Technical Writer Background:
Bachelors Bachelor’s Degree (or higher) strongly preferred.
Minimum 5 Years of Experience as technical writer or similar role.
At least 1 or more years of healthcare writing, including basic knowledge of quality programs, HEDIS, CMS star measures, etc.
Excellent research and writing skills, along with an understanding of information design, documentation development cycles, information architecture, training material development, illustration and graphic design, website design and management, user interfaces, and business analysis.
Ability to build relationships across the business to get the necessary data needed for technical documentation.
Works with a sense of urgency.
Prior health plan operations experience required.
Communicates with ease up and down the chain of leadership.
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Power Point).
Professional with ability to properly handle confidential information.
Ability to work well independently and in a team environment.
Ability to handle multiple tasks, prioritize and meet deadlines.
Ability to work within a matrix organization.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
