The California Department of Transportation (CALTRANS) is seeking to hire a student assistant. In a learning capacity, the student will assist and provide updates to tracking systems for outreach communication to local governments and partnering agencies. The student will make follow-up calls to set appointments for Unsheltered Task Force Lead and accompany to (virtual) meetings to take notes and provide technical support and assist with presentations.
Conditions of Employment
This is a part-time, temporary, non-benefited, student position. Employment in all positions with University Enterprises, Inc. is dependent upon the mutual consent of University Enterprises, Inc. and the employee. This means that either University Enterprises, Inc. or the employee can, at any time, terminate the employment relationship at will, with or without cause.

Flexible hours, Monday through Friday, between 8:00am – 4:00pm. Final schedule to be determined between supervisor and student.
Additional Work Schedule
Student Assistants and Graduate Student Assistants generally work up to 20 hours per work week (Sunday-Saturday) during the academic year and up to 40 hours per work week during breaks; (Winter, Spring and Summer).
Student Assistants are not permitted to telecommute or work remotely.

Students must be enrolled at a minimum in:
six semester units or nine quarter units for undergraduate students; four semester units or six quarter units for graduate students.

Duties and Responsibilities
- In a learning capacity, the student assistant (SA) will assist the Unsheltered Task Force lead and AGPA staff with updates to outreach tracking database. SA will provide administrative support by summarizing meeting notes and assisting with creating presentation materials.
- Monitor Internet and media outlets for trends, updates and outreach efforts of partnering agencies and neighboring Districts.
- Under the supervision of the Unsheltered Task Force Lead, Public Affairs SSMI, and AGPA staff assist in coordinating Unsheltered outreach with Customer Service Requests.
- Assist in development of web design and work closely with Audio/Visual department and District Webmaster to create and update district Unsheltered webpage and Division Intranet.
Sit for extended periods; frequently stand and walk; manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination; corrected hearing and vision to normal range; verbal communication; use of office equipment including computer workstations, telephones, calculators, copiers, printers, scanners, and fax machines, with or without a reasonable accommodation.
