Plan and determine under supervision the sequence of machining operations, number of cuts required to obtain required finishes and tolerances, determine cutting tools to be used and method of holding and aligning work with supervision.
Make simple layouts on parts involving compound angles and mating part work, to check for sufficient stock and for reference during machining.
Set up machines to completely and independently perform any operations for basic functions. Select mount and align various specialized machine attachments and standard or improvised tooling. Determine, set, and adjust machine speeds, feeds and depth of cut. Select, mount, and fasten cutting tools for specified finish and best performance consistent with the type of material being machined. Work will be performed under direct supervision.
