As an Operations Officer, you can expect to be involved in a whole host of activities
The success of the team will all come down to you, as you make sure that transaction processing is done in a timely, complete and accurate way. We’ll also count on you to provide your team with direction, support and guidance and periodically review the effectiveness of processes. You’ll also be the main point of contact for any time critical, complex or regulated tasks and ensure the proper escalation of any issues that may arise.
The role will have the following responsibilities
The reconciliation associate will be responsible for reviewing of cash balances, transactions and security positions between the records of DeAM(Aladdin) to those of the client’s custodian bank and handling key troubleshooting for the reconciliation team. The team handles cash reconciliation to custody, position reconciliation to custody/Accounting (RKS), break research and resolution, overdraft reporting, customized reconciliation deliverables, adhoc front office queries etc. Responsibilities will include escalation point for day to day issues, working with front office and custody, supporting the offshore staff (DBOI) closely and being a second line of escalation for the relationship managers and portfolio managers.
You will need to bring the following skills and experiences:
Experience in the buy side financial industry (asset management, private banking)
Ability to lead/guide through issues and mentor offshore teams during time sensitive and high pressure activities
Must have experience with Reconciliations in the financial industry
Ability to analyze reoccurring issues and perform root cause analysis. Escalate issues in the event control gaps are identified
Experience with portfolio, trading platforms (preferably Aladdin) as well as excellent understanding of life cycle of a trade
Ability to quickly learn in a time sensitive and high pressure environment. Good critical thinking skills
Hands on experience working with Front Office and partnering with other operational teams to remedy breaks
Ability to make sound judgment and when to escalate with senior manager appropriately
Subject matter expert for the reconciliations team and provide guidance on complex issues. Ability to make recommendations in efforts of creating processing efficiencies
Ensure tasks are followed according to Key Operating Procedures. Escalate when procedures are not followed and provide necessary direction to remediate
Act as escalation point for Front Office queries related to reconciliation issues Manage expectations and ensure issues are addressed in timely manner by Offshore functional processing teams
Build and maintain strong internal and external working relationships
Excellent organization and communication skills
