Edgewater Federal Solutions is currently seeking a Junior Systems Engineer to work with the Senior Systems Engineer and the CTO, to assist with day to day operations of the IT systems and to work on the help desk to assist corporate staff office with daily needs and troubleshooting located in Ijamsville, MD. The candidate needs to have the ability to switch gears at a moment's notice, think outside the box, be persistent, patient and well organized. We are willing to train the right candidate.
Have familiarity with supporting Office 365/Azure Administration; Exchange Online Administration; SharePoint Online Administration, Teams Administration, Windows 10 Administration.
Assist with supporting the Office Network/Switch/Firewall/Wi-Fi/Telephone/Security
Provide technical assistance and support for incoming queries and issues related to computer systems, software, and hardware.
Diagnosing system errors and other issues.
Documenting and triaging the request; solving or escalating the request.
Tracking status and providing routine progress updates to the Senior Systems Engineer and the CTO; and following up with the Employee End-User on the resolution of ticket for completeness/quality and satisfaction.
Setup new computers/laptops/cell phones for new hires.
Research questions using available information resources.
Advise user on appropriate action.
Writing, editing, and revising training manuals for new and updated software and hardware.
Following up with employees to ensure full resolution of issues.
Bachelor's degree - preferably in Information Technology.
Working knowledge of fundamental operations of relevant software, hardware and other equipment.
Working knowledge of Cyber Security fundamentals.
Related experience and training in troubleshooting and providing help desk support.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
Proactive, service-oriented mind-set.
Excellent in Microsoft Office & SharePoint.
Familiarity with both PC and Mac Hardware and Software.
