Responsibilities:
Pass a pre-placement drug test and physical.
Required: Must have 1- 2 years of scrap metal experience as well as knowledge of non-ferrous material and how to identify each/buy them.
Identify and manually sort scrap metal of different kinds: shapes, sizes and weights from mixed loads and place scrap metal into separate piles or containers based on material.
Maintain a clean, safe and efficient workplace.
Be on time.
Work in a team atmosphere and in a professional manor with peers and customers.
Experience with forklift, bobcat, front end loader preferred. (Willing to teach)
Work under an open warehouse / outdoors in extreme heat or cold, dusty, dirty and/or wet conditions.
Position requires working on your feet long periods of time.
Rotate working Saturdays with employees.
Benefits:
If 2 year experience in a scrap yard: Pay starts at $20 hour if knowledgeable in sorting material/buying non- ferrous material without needing any additional training.
