In this role, you’ll serve as Head of Technical Program Management (TPM) for the Agile Delivery Program Management Organization (APMO). You will manage and oversee all aspects of the Agile Program Management Office (APMO). You will build and drive the operational backbone for our APMO. This person will lead a team that drives strategic cross-platform and cloud programs and be responsible for partnering with cross-functional and cross-platform leadership teams to execute against the strategy of the APMO. You will guide and enable your team of Technical Program Managers to execute on strategic priorities that span across Cloud Platform as well as company-wide divisions and product lines, working closely with the Head of Agile Delivery, Agile Practice, and other departmental leadership to drive results across the company. You will form a strong partnership with the Agile Practice team so that the Agile Delivery mission, message, and guidance show thought leadership and provide inspiration across Autodesk. As a successful candidate for this position, you will have a proven track record of managing a large team of Technical Program Managers across a Platform Division.
As head of the Head of TPM, you will be expected to define and manage portfolio and delivery programs that oversee and improve operational efficiency, transparency, and execution for all programs and initiatives spanning across Cloud Platform as well as priority product initiatives. This role You will be responsible for defining and iterating on policies, processes, and procedures that monitor and support the organization’s operational and service delivery objectives. He / She is You will also be responsible for administration, knowledge management, and communications for the APMO. The As Head of Technical Program Management, you will analyze our APMO processes and provide advice to the Head of Agile Delivery and management in the areas of operations, resource management, cost and/or risks/dependencies.
This will be an extremely challenging but exhilarating opportunity to join a group that is part of a business transformation at Autodesk with significant revenue implications for the company. Moving our customer's design processes into the cloud requires an enormous investment in high-scale (elastic) compute technology, flexible and high-performance infrastructure, as well as highly effective processes for security and availability. As this affects most software products across the company it is necessary to be increasingly agile in our software development and deployment processes in conjunction with the move to the cloud. There are many opportunities to continue innovating and leveraging cutting-edge techniques in this area.
This position would be based in the San Francisco office and will report into the Head of Agile Delivery.
Manage the team that is responsible for stakeholder management and the visibility to program health (key decisions, dependencies, issues, risks, metrics, etc.) on an ongoing basis through push status reporting (to all stakeholders, team members, and interested parties)
Establish process, policies, and procedures that help drive reliability, efficiency, accuracy, and customer-centric trust
Define and Manage strategy development and implementation of APMO practices
Provide leadership and instruction to a global team of technical program managers specifically with respect to continuous deployment and improvement, organizational effectiveness and the establishment of a scalable customer-service oriented organization
Lead Steering Committee meetings with key stakeholders for each program to help make key decisions, remove obstacles, and address key program issues. Be the key driver to ensure business goals are met and support the strategic vision of each program
Oversee and manage TPMs driving "program/feature" dependencies process spanning across multiple teams, scrum teams, functions, divisions, and stakeholders
Engage applicable stakeholders and conduct Quarterly Stakeholder & Service Reviews that monitor and track against SLA and OKRs
Work with the Agile Practice and stakeholders to develop and continuously improve service management processes
Stakeholder management to ensure stakeholders are continuously kept abreast of program health, blockers and trade-offs
Ensure that metrics and measurements for compliance to implemented processes are developed and documented
Drive and manage analysis and metrics for portfolio dashboards to identify inefficient processes and devise an improvement plan
Tracking and developing compliance to PMO and Agile/Lean standards
Drive innovation and integration of new processes and technologies into programs, initiatives, and activities across the organization
Effectively collaborate, build relationships and influence team members to achieve program objectives
MA/MS and/or BA/BS in Computer Science, Information Technology, or technical field
PMP (or similar project management) certification required
ITIL v3 Foundation certification preferred but not required
ITIL v3 SOA (Service Offerings and Agreements) certification a plus
6 – 10 + yrs of professional cloud compute work experience, ideally in a platform environment of highly trafficked customer-facing applications and stakeholders
6 – 10 + years of Program Management experience with large-scale projects ($2M+)
3 – 5 + years of SCRUM/Agile Project/Program Management experience
Ability to balance short-term tactical decisions with long-term strategic thinking
Ability to establish credibility and rapport with senior executives and technical and non-technical team members alike
Ability to manage multiple projects and balance changing priorities
Strong communicator with excellent written/oral presentation skills who can represent this organization at all levels within Autodesk
Ability to successfully collaborate with all functions across the entire company
Experience with Portfolio Management

BA, BS, or equivalent in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business or related field; MBA interesting but not preferred over proven experience
7 - 10+ years of demonstrated success leading large, complex projects or programs across organizations, often working on multiple programs and company-wide initiatives at the same time
Thorough understanding of the software development lifecycle; ability to adjust and apply this knowledge in a dynamic environment using agile principles & methodologies
Ability to understand technical subjects and technologies relevant to the program
Ability to drive initiatives, be a self-starter, set priorities and manage stakeholders
