Senior Trade Marketing Specialist

The Senior Trade Marketing Specialist is responsible for assisting the Trade Marketing Manager in creating a culture that supports innovation, individual excellence and a commitment to best practices in ecommerce. This position identifies new opportunities for team members and helps develop, implement and maintain a training program and supporting materials. This role’s responsibilities include organizing, editing and publishing online content, overseeing product and content maintenance and working with Account Executives, Trade Marketing Specialists and Vendors to determine key priorities and deadlines. The incumbent assists in all areas of Trade Marketing, from developing online content to effecting leadership throughout the team. The ideal candidate is able to work with minimal supervision and believes in collaboration, leveraging technology to solve data problems and the web's ability to produce new opportunities for a growing company.

The Company is one of North America’s leading sales and marketing agencies specializing in outsourced sales, merchandising, category management and marketing services to manufacturers, suppliers and producers of food products and consumer packaged goods. The Company services a variety of trade channels including grocery, mass merchandise, specialty, convenience, drug, dollar, club, hardware, consumer electronics and home centers. We bridge the gap between manufacturers and retailers, providing consumers access to the best products available in the marketplace today.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities

Assist Trade Marketing Manager in all areas of Trade Marketing
Effect leadership throughout the team by activating team members
Create a long-term content strategy backed by industry best practices and vendor metrics
Assess data and information needs for content projects
Synthesize meeting notes, sell sheets and other data into clear and engaging content while creating a narrative or voice that represents a company or brand
Develop client-deliverables including setup sheets, proposals and more
Write, edit and proof content for online commerce
Create enhanced online content, graphics and page layout
Help define content standards for all channels (e.g. biogs, ecommerce, internal documents)
Create documents that support employee training and identify areas of growth for team members
Help organize and maintain data on servers

Minimum Qualifications

The following are the minimum job-related qualifications which an individual needs in order to successfully perform the essential duties and responsibilities of the job

Education Level: (Required): Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience

Field of Study/Area of Experience: Experience in how to tell a story using words, graphics and rich media, Background in ecommerce and online marketing desired
1-3 years of experience in project management, ecommerce or writing

Skills, Knowledge and Abilities

High level of Initiative and ability to work under minimal supervision
Strong editor with an eye for creating online content
Strong attention to detail and ability to work under tight deadlines
Excellent interpersonal skills including written and oral communication skill
Ability to achieve success by transforming ambiguity into clear standards
Desire to contribute to a positive work environment and create success for clients and team members
Ability to build relationships across teams and clients
Ability to manage large amounts of data and streamline processes
Proficiency with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook) required - graphics experience a plus
Knowledge of basic SEO and keyword research

Incumbent must be able to perform the essential functions of the job. Work is performed primarily in an office environment. Typically requires the ability to sit for extended periods of time (66%+ each day), ability to hear the telephone, ability to enter data on a computer and may also require the ability to lift up to 10 pounds.
