Summary of Responsibilities
The People Business Partner (PBP) is a leader with a point of view that aligns people strategies with the business unit objectives. You will partner with functional business teams, mainly C-level executives and their direct reports, to establish and implement people programs/initiatives driven by data and analysis, also known as the Human Capital Strategy in order to deliver on business objectives.
Reporting directly to the Chief People Officer, the PBP is skilled in building effective partnerships with all levels of employees and has a demonstrated history of implementing successful programs that drive business results. This is an individual contributor Director level role. This role partners closely with their center of excellence colleagues within the People team, as well as the senior level client leaders.
The PBP advises senior management in the development of solutions through organizational development and cultural and process ‐ oriented perspectives. Key skills and abilities include coaching, influencing, facilitation, presentation, communication, process development, analysis and problem solving.
Strategic Partnership and Alignment
Formulate partnerships across the organization to formulate the human capital strategy that drives the strategic objectives of the organization.
This particular role will be the PBP for the following organizations: Sales (Chief Sales Officer) and Customer Success (VP, Customer Success).
Analyze business unit trends and metrics in partnership with the broader People Organization to develop solutions, programs, and policies to improve the People Organization's contribution to the organization's goals.
Provide guidance and input on business unit restructures, workforce planning, work process flow, roles and responsibilities, organizational planning, etc.
Partner with both the business unit and People Organization to assess and effectively address needs in areas such as organizational design, performance management, compensation, and career, competency and leadership development.
Assess and anticipate employee related needs and communicate those needs to business unit leaders. Develop and integrate solutions to address the people objectives while maintaining focus on the business unit's goals.
Actively support discussions to break down silos across the organization.
Work closely with management and employees and People Business Advisor (PBA) team to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention.
Manage and resolve complex employee relations issues. Support PBA team as needed to ensure effective, thorough and objective investigations are completed.
Understand themes and hot spot areas working in conjunction with PBA team to course correct as needed
Actively identify People gaps within the client organization and propose and implement changes necessary to appropriately address the risk(s).
Manage complex people projects cross-functionally.
Maintain in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, appropriately reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance. Collaborate with legal department as needed/required.
Provide people policy guidance and interpretation.
Strong analytical skills and the ability to translate client business plans and goals into human capital strategy, solutions, and programs
Experience supporting sales and customer success teams
Excellent client management and business literacy skills
Demonstrated success in utilizing influencing skills and working with senior members of the business
Strong influence and negotiation skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
A depth of experience in employee development, management coaching, organizational design, compensation, employee relations, training, and project management and program implementation
Business Insight- proven ability to diagnose problems and identify and drive appropriate solutions
Proven leadership in driving and executing people initiatives to achieve strategic objectives
Demonstrated ability to build trusted relationships with all levels of the organization
Successful change management and team development experience
10 plus years of experience in general people management and/or a strategic partner role
Bachelor's degree or equivalent post-secondary degree
Relevant industry experience preferred
Master's degree or MBA preferred
