Hourly range: $16 - $17 Hours: 40 hours/week - weekend hours required

Curology partners patients with licensed healthcare professionals and custom-formulates medications at its laboratory in San Diego, California. POSITION SUMMARY:
The Patient Support Specialist manages our front line customer service functions. This position is focused on fielding and responding to patient communication coming in via the web, email and phone messages. Secondary responsibilities include general administrative and operational support functions, to assist other departments across the company. The ideal candidate for this position is someone who loves people, has a customer service focused mindset, and can work a somewhat flexible schedule, to ensure urgent customer needs are quickly fulfilled.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Collaborate with team members to provide the optimal patient experience
  • Field incoming patient messages via email, web portal and phone
  • Prioritize patient enquiries and respond or escalate accordingly
  • Ensure all patient messages (voice, email, web and other) are responded to within 24 hours
  • Develop, review and update support materials
  • Troubleshoot and resolve website and patient technical issues
  • Filing and general administrative duties as required
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES and ATTRIBUTES:
  • Flexibility to respond to urgent patient issues that may arise outside normal office hours
  • Demonstrates commitment to fostering a highly supportive and collaborative workplace culture
  • Maintains an upbeat and enthusiastic attitude, even under pressure
  • Proficient with MS Windows-based computer systems
  • Ability to quickly learn new software programs and systems
  • Outstanding communication and comprehension skills (both oral and written)
  • Ability to protect patient confidentiality and other records
  • Ability to prioritize workflows and achieve deadlines
EDUCATION and WORK EXPERIENCE:
  • Bachelor’s or Associate degree preferred
  • Relevant work experience in a customer service and/or administrative- based position
  • Sound business acumen
