We are expanding our HR team and looking for a high level Employee Relations professional that will strategically streamline and expand the ER function for our growing company. If your values align with a focus on people and hospitality then keep on reading!

What you’ll be doing:
Lead the Employee Relations function for Torchy’s Tacos, including the supervision and coaching/development of the team responsible for promptly investigating and responding to concerns, including those reported via the Taco-to-Me hotline
Counsel and advise business leaders and employee relations team in interpreting and applying policies and procedures to resolve issues related to hiring, compensation, disciplinary action, terminations and conflict resolution in a fast-paced environment
Serve as escalation point, making final recommendations, in conjunction with HR Director, on serious and complex employment matters involving discipline and termination
Facilitate the interactive process with employees seeking reasonable accommodation for disabilities, in partnership with leadership, HR Director and other support resources
Operate as a strategic business partner by reviewing, analyzing and providing periodic detailed reports and insights related to root cause of employee relations trends. Share findings with key partners in order to develop and deliver integrated plans that link to organization and people strategies, while minimizing legal risk and improving the overall culture
Develop and implement employee relations policies, methods, tools and training programs for execution, in partnership with the HR Director and other relevant departments. Conduct training workshops on harassment, discipline or other HR related subjects as needed
Manage all regulatory compliance related to federal and state employment and immigration laws (including Title VII, ADA, FMLA, I-9, etc.), including the preparation of responses to government agencies, such as the EEOC and state equivalent, for legal review
Supervise or facilitate HR portion of orientation for HQ new hires or New Store Openings as needed. Work with training team to develop programs for new management to ensure adequate knowledge of HR policies
Partner with HR Director and CEO related to any severance or termination agreements
Ensure all stakeholders, such as HR and Operations business partners, are current on employment based compliance trends; update HR policies as needed
Assist with projects as needed to include thought partnership, training, research, and other contributions that support the business

QUE-SO…here’s what you’ll need:
Experience leading a team of HR professionals
7-10 years of experience in HR with significant exposure to HR policies and procedures
The ability to conceptualize and drive effective actions and solutions
Ability to travel for store audits and investigations as needed
Experience in implementing HR projects and leading change efforts
Working knowledge of HR functions including employee relations, compensation, benefits, performance management, unemployment, worker’s compensation, safety, leave administration, regulatory compliance and organizational development
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
High level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations in a professional manner
Ability to work independently to meet deadlines and prioritize projects based on their urgency and impact
Ability to think creatively and to introduce new ideas and processes
Knowledge of Microsoft Suite products with intermediate abilities in MS Word and Excel.
