Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking a motivated Deputy Program Manager that will assist with leading the Ground Integrated Product Team (IPT) for the Next Generation OPIR Polar (NGP) program. The position will be located in Redondo Beach, CA. The NGP Deputy Program Manager (DPM) will assist the PM in standing up the Ground IPT coming out of a study phase and transitioning to design and development on the path to Critical Design Review. The Deputy will support the IPT lead in reporting up as part of the larger NGP program leadership team and support leading and managing a team responsible for Systems Engineering, Ground Software and NGP unique ground hardware. The Deputy will interface daily with other internal and external organizations, including customers and their technical support in a complex multi-party development Customer Ground Enterprise. The Deputy will provide direction to APMs as needed. Additional responsibilities include planning, risk management, and project performance addressing cost, schedule, and technical quality for the program. The Deputy will coordinate the preparation of cost estimates, business plans, work statements and specifications, operating budgets and financial terms and conditions of contracts. The candidate will represent the PM as needed in maintaining responsibility for cost & schedule, and will present status at PMRs/IBRs/TRRs/TRBs. The Deputy will also help lead adjacent NGP Ground capture efforts.
Additional responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
Candidate is required to have experience in software development deliverables and processes
Preparing and reporting IPRS and other status at meetings with OU and Division leadership
Manage stakeholders and resolve competing needs, to include customers, subcontractors, and internal participants
Manage and report on project status, customer satisfaction, submission of CDRLs and risks, using earned value, integrated master schedule, integrated master plan, and similar techniques and tools
Support/manage proposal efforts
Manage project staff to ensure successful project performance
Exert influence on the overall objectives and long-range strategic goals of the organization
