The Clinical Laboratory Technologist will provide support in the Immunohistochemical laboratory. The incumbent's responsibilities will include staining a wide range of clinical and research tissues using automated and manual IHC techniques, and preparation of laboratory reagents and working solutions. Will also apply and carry out the QA/QC procedures as per policy. Maintain statistical records, and other related logs pertaining to the laboratory. Effectively analyzes, trouble shoots and resolves routine technical issues. Assist in setting up, evaluating and trouble-shooting new protocols. Will files and transport materials; data entry into laboratory information system, and other pertinent duties related to the functioning of the laboratory.

Minimum Qualifications for Grade
Applicant MUST meet these minimum qualifications to be considered an applicant

Must have a Master's degree plus 3 years of related experience or a Bachelor's degree plus 6 years of related experience or equivalent in education, training and experience and New York State Department of Education Clinical Laboratory Technician/Technologist license, or Histology Technician License.

Experience with automated staining platforms and associated laboratory procedures required.

Computer skills with Microsoft Office. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to work in an organized manner in accordance with established regulations policy and procedure. Must be able to work flexible day and evening hours.

Preferred Qualifications

HT/ HTL (ASCP) registered or registration eligible.
Copath experience preferred.

10% Slide management/lab maintenance related activity
