SAVOR...Chicago, the leading food service provider located at McCormick Place Convention Center has an immediate opening for a Banquet Coordinator for its Banquet and Culinary Departments. This position will provide administrative support for Banquets and Culinary by communicating changes generated in RESERVE.

Major Responsibilities

Support the Banquet team with printing and distribution of changes in RESERVE.
Input and review all requisitions for the following areas; Warehouse, Equipment, Tables, Linens and Power at the guidance of the Banquet Manager. Follow up to ensure all requisitions are 100% complete.
Communicate changes in requisitions to the appropriate Captains/Managers in a timely manner
Create Banquet Captains' Distro packages daily and distribute.
Functions as a liaison between Banquets, Stewarding and Culinary ensuring last minute pop-ups are communicated accordingly and timely.
Respond to Banquet Captain calls regarding additional product needed, confirmation of request by Sales and or Clients.
Direct the daily/weekly show driven stream of administrative paperwork necessary to execute all events.
Must be able to handle multiple projects at a time and very detail oriented.
Generate Function Sheets, Work cards and Buffet menu labels.
Edit Kronos daily to correct punches.
Track daily attendance log.
Ensure proper paper work is filled for sick, vacation, bereavement days.
Fill in as a Banquet Manager when required.
Effective communicator, have flexibility with scheduling, a sense of urgency, able to multi-task, sharp with a professional demeanor.
All other duties as assigned.

Education and/or Experience

High School Diploma or equivalent (i.e. GED)
English reading, writing and basic math skills required
Strong analytical thinker
Catering knowledge, i.e. Food/Menu items, type of services provided, equipment required and logistical knowledge
Experience with E-Time, Eventions or equivalent preferred.
1-2 years' work experience in Food and Beverage, Hospitality, Sales or related field.
Computer literate and able to type no less than 50 wpm.
Prior experience in an unionized environment highly desirable.
Must be able to work extended and/or irregular hours, including nights, weekends and holidays as needed.
Have a sense of urgency, multi-task and possess a professional personality
Hourly Rate: $16-$18
