Sasol (USA) Corporation is expanding its existing Louisiana Chemical Operations with the development of a world-scale ethane cracker that will produce 1.5 million tons of ethylene and other downstream derivatives per year. The ethane cracker will enable Sasol to expand its differentiated ethylene derivatives business, while helping to strengthen U.S. Manufacturing, boost exports and spur economic growth.

Due to our tremendous growth we are recruiting for a Process Control Engineer. This position reports to Plant Manager and is located in Houston, TX at the Greens Bayou Plant. Below are the position requirements.

Successful implementation of process control and automation projects in accordance with business and regulatory requirements.
Process Safety Management Practice
Continuous Improvement

Develop, maintain, and optimize Process Control Systems including operation and maintenance procedures.
Develop process control strategies and standards to improve operational efficiency.
Ensure compliance and enforcement of company, safety, environmental, governmental policies and regulations, as they apply.
Provide technical expertise in support of capital projects, process evaluation, and project modifications.
Provide day-to-day troubleshooting assistance for instrumentation and controls to avoid or minimize production upsets and/or downtime.
Assist with the instrumentation and process controls functional responsibilities (i.e. design, configuration, commissioning and startups) associated with capital and improvement projects.
Manage administrative and documentation requirements for tasks such as configuration backups, software revisions, downloading configuration changes, graphics development and modification, and implementing software changes of design.
Assisting in training operators on how the control systems function and in diagnosing operating problems.
Implement / Maintain interlock test procedures
Ensure upkeep of the Control System peripherals and associated equipment in order to support production demand.
Troubleshoot and maintain DCS and PLCs

Assigned Projects completed on time and within budget and quality parameters
Management of change followed according to procedure
As defined in current Individual Performance contract

BS or MS degree in electrical, chemical or mechanical engineering
Minimum of 10 years of Engineering experience in chemical, petrochemical or refinery manufacturing
DCS knowledge and training, preferably Emerson Delta V
PLC knowledge and training, preferably GE and Allen Bradley
Wonderware HMI and OPC Server training and experience
Experience with PID controllers and tuning
Demonstrated understanding of process measurement and control instrumentation
Experience in creating technical documentation in a regulated environment is highly preferred
Strong leadership and teamwork skills with a results oriented commitment
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Continuously reinforce behavior based safety
Knowledge of industry and government standards such as ISA, IEC, NEC, API requirements for process facilities

Process control engineering experience
Direct knowledge, training or experience with fieldbus or other automation network technology
Experience in a PSM and ISO9001 environment
