Regional Sales Manager - Oil & Gas / Chemical Industry

We are looking for a Regional Sales Manager for various territories across North America focusing on oil and gas, refineries, terminals, petrochemical, and chemical plants. The individual will be responsible for growing new business, developing new sales tactics, and guiding product development and rollout. The individual will play a key role in increasing revenue by generating leads, qualifying prospects, managing contracts with clients, and refining the sales process.

Essential Functions

Entrepreneurial-minded approach to improving sales and technical products/services.
“Get the sale” by cold calling, visits to the field, trade conferences, webinar presentations, etc.
Forecast sales, develop “out of the box” sales strategies/models, and evaluate their effectiveness.
Evaluate customers’ capabilities and needs and build productive, long-lasting relationships.
Meet personal and team sales targets.
Attend meetings, company events, and trainings to keep informed of the latest developments.
Report and provide feedback to management using statistical data.
Prospecting, closing, presenting, and customer service skills.
Connect business needs to solutions.

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Work Environment

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and filing cabinets.

Physical Demands

This is a largely sedentary role. However, employee may be required to operate a few inspections, which requires the ability to work long, physically-demanding hours in an industrial environment, wearing full PPE.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work

Compensation structure includes base salary plus generous commission. This is a full-time position. While employees must work at least 30 hours per week to maintain full-time status, the focus of this position will be on getting the job done rather than the number of hours per week. In general, this position will be expected to work at least 40 hours per week, though some weeks will require additional hours. Flexibility in hours is allowed, but the employee must generally be available during the hours of 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.


At least 50% domestic overnight travel, with possibility of adding international.

Required Education and Experience

Proven sales experience or strong aptitude for sales.
Preferred Education and Experience

Experience in power or related heavy industry and an understanding of how plants operate, handle outages, non-destructive testing, etc.
