Job Description:
The Sheraton Duluth Hotel is currently seeking full-time Housekeepers! Shift include both weekdays and weekends.

The Housekeeper is responsible for the operations of cleaning rooms, public space cleaning, laundry production and other related areas of the hotel. Work closely with the Housekeeping Supervisor to cover days off and train staff, help with scheduling and other duties as assigned.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Clean guest rooms in accordance with established quality and performance standards to allow a sufficient quantity of vacant and clean guest rooms for sale
Enter guest rooms following procedures for gaining access and ensuring vacancy before entering
Replace dirty linens and towels with clean items, make beds and fold towels, and clean bathrooms
Replace guest amenities and supplies in room
Remove trash, dirty linen, and room service items
Check that all appliances are present in the room and in working order
Straighten desk items, furniture, and appliances
Vacuum carpets and perform floor care duties (e.g., in guest rooms and hallway)
Dust, polish, and remove marks from walls and furnishings
Organize and stock cleaning cart and organize linen closets on floors assigned
Perform other duties as requested, (i.e. cleaning unexpected spills; executing special guest requests)
Assist other housekeeping associates in maintaining clean and organized work and public areas
Anticipate customer needs with the ability to change goals and direction quickly
Maintains customer service and excellent relations with guests, visitors, vendors and other external or internal organizations
Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas

Required Experience:
No prior housekeeping experience required; Customer service experience in the hospitality industry strongly preferred
Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills; Ability to communicate effectively with community partners, vendors / external parties, and across internal divisions

Schedule hours may vary due to the specific needs of the hotel. Must have weekend, holiday, and overtime availability as required.
Ensure compliance with federal, state and local laws regarding health and safety services
WORK ENVIRONMENT

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions at construction job sites. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Must be able to exert well-paced ability to reach other departments of the hotel on a timely basis
Must be able to lift up to 25-lbs. on a regular and continuing basis
Must be able to push and pull carts and equipment weighing up to 100-lbs. on a regular and continuing basis
Requires grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, bending, climbing, listening and hearing ability and visual acuity
Talking and hearing occur continuously in the process of communicating with guests, supervisors and subordinates
Vision occurs continuously with the most common visual functions being those of near vision and depth perception
Requires manual dexterity to use and operate all necessary equipment
