The Senior Financial Analyst is responsible for event financial aspects of the MSG Live department and ticket reporting. The Analyst’s responsibilities will be categorized into the following areas:
- Event financial support across MSG Venues and event types (e.g. Concerts, Family Attractions, Special Events) including tracking costs and supporting event offers/settlements.
- Ticket reporting and analysis for all properties across all venues.
- Special projects including but not limited to Performing Rights Organizations analysis and various competitive analysis.
Specific Functions/Activities Summary
Event Financial Support (80%)
The Senior Financial Analyst helps prepare labor & cost estimates for primarily Theater concerts and one day Special Events inclusive of rate card rent for use by MSG Live Booking department executives to negotiate deals with clients. The Analyst will also support Finance Managers and Finance Directors in all types of events including concerts, family attractions, performing arts, and special events, as well as all types of deals including rentals, co-promotions, and self-promotions.
Special Projects (20%)
The Analyst will provide support relating to any analytical needs across the department including help on Performing Rights Organizations.

BS, BA or related degree in accounting or finance or equivalent work experience
Strong financial modeling skills in Excel and in depth understanding of financial systems desired but not required
Experience in Oracle, Anaplan, TM1 desired but not required
Experience within the live entertainment, sports or hospitality industry preferred
Experience in a union environment and dealing with multiple collective bargaining agreements preferred
Capable of performing in high pressure live event environments
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS OF THE JOB:
Physical demands are limited to standard office job requirements like sitting, standing, walking, and carrying binders.
There is minimal air travel involved potentially to Chicago and regular local travel within the city, usually using public transportation, taxis or car service.
Workload regularly includes event settlements at venues that occur on evenings and weekends.
Candidates who have completed 60 credits of college-level coursework (representing 2 years), or have shown similar self-development through certifications, trade school coursework, etc. are preferred.
