PC Technician

Candidates with the ability to interact with technical and non-technical users in an understandable and concise manner while solving complex technical issues will be preferred for the PC Technician opening at Robert Half Technology. If you are self-motivated, a problem solver, and interested in a positive, dynamic environment, you could thrive in this role. As the PC Technician, you will work in the New York, New York, region. This role is a short term temporary opportunity.

How you will make an impact

  • Record daily data communication transactions, issues and remedial actions or installation activities
  • Collaborate to test functionality and provide end user support
  • Diagnose, repair, rebuild, and refurbish a variety of computer hardware, including PCs, laptops, monitors, servers and other IT equipment
  • Ensure the integrity of all electronic data records by following company quality standards
  • Take down, pack, transport and set up/install on site
  • Install printers, troubleshoot and handle repairs
  • Manage and carry out a variety of technology implementation projects
  • Provide frequent and effective communication with ticket submitters
  • Coordinate with the appropriate vendors to arrange repairs
  • Dismantle, box and ship outdated equipment
  • Transfer data from PC to PC and troubleshoot software/hardware as well as break/fix
  • Manage inventory of equipment, including collaborating on potential purchases
  • Handle all imaging and preparation tasks for new computers

  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Proven flexibility to adapt to changes in procedures and job assignments
  • Knowledgeable of network design and implementation strategies
  • Knowledge of PC skills
  • Comprehensive knowledge of PC desktop/workstations
  • 1 - 3 years of experience with PC and Mac hardware and software, and an understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, LAN, and WAN
  • Be able to prioritize workload and perform in a fast paced and challenging environment
  • Attention to detail and proven ability to follow standard procedures is a requirement
  • CompTIA A+ certification mandatory
