Quality Assurance is an important part of BW Flexible Systems operations team success. Quality Assurance Technician is responsible for supporting the Quality System development, Quality Engineering, Inspection, Supplier Quality Assurance and interfacing with suppliers on quality related items. Quality Assurance team members must have a strong work ethic, be dependable and have good judgement and customer service orientation.
Quality at the Source:
Work with Operations, Engineering & Suppliers to draft Quality Assurance policies and procedures that will empower the team to develop external supplier’s quality program and audit their results
Evaluate and take corrective action when necessary with regard to product date coding levels on OEM product we sell (develop stock rotation process)
Analyze data to identify areas of improvement needed in the quality system
Coordinate and support on-site audits conducted by external suppliers
Develop process to monitor/audit recommended corrective and preventive actions at the supplier
Ensure communications are clear for change control with suppliers
Be part of the Supplier Certification Team
Balance of Quality & Efficiency:
Implement Quality Plan and ensure efficiency of quality & inspection systems to support Quality Plan
Audit Plan by monitoring, testing & inspection of materials and products to ensure finished product quality
Create processes within Quality Assurance by analyzing the data to help suppliers through their own CLCA and Lean improvements to eliminate the need for local inspection
Assure ongoing compliance with Hayssen quality requirements
Investigate customer complaints and non-conformance issues and develop procedures to reduce/eliminate customer impact
Perform Process Audits at the source to validate documented process
Create Quality plans including SPC at Source
Work with supplier to develop tool wear tracking/evaluations process at Source
Ability to evaluate assembly issues on the production floor and determine proper solution using BOM, prints and knowledge of machine functions
Associate Degree in quality, electronic or mechanical technology
3 years’ experience in manufacturing, quality or research and development
Experience with implementation of corrective action programs and knowledge of tools, concepts and methodologies of Quality Assurance
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, and ABILITIES :
Knowledge of reading blueprints, basic math, use of basic hand tools, measuring devices and sizing methods. Good electrical/mechanical aptitude. Excellent communication skills. Must have experience with 5S and lean concepts. Must be able to use Infor XA/MAPICS software. Have a working knowledge of Microsoft Word® and Excel®. Ability to work independently and be detail oriented. Physical requirements include capable of periodically lifting up to 30 lbs.
Must be able to travel up to 20% of time.
BA in engineering discipline, industrial or manufacturing is preferred
Experience with writing programs for and inspecting parts with Romer Arm a plus.
Have a working knowledge of Hayssen Flexible Systems BOM structure and Drawing methodology including GD&T.
Graduate of Communication Skills and/or Culture of Service Course
