Assistant Controller

Our successful property management company is in need for an experienced Assistant Controller in our corporate office located in North Little Rock.

The Assistant Controller assists the Controller with the management of the financial assets and accounting operations of the company, which includes maintenance of an adequate system of accounting records, a comprehensive set of internal controls, and accurate and timely financial reporting.

Duties include but are not limited to:
Assists the Controller in overseeing all accounting functions, implementing, monitoring, and enhancing accounting procedures and internal controls
Assists Senior Property Accountant in monthly financial statement review and external reporting as needed
Reviews annual real estate tax statements and oversees preparation of personal property tax assessments
Manages the insurance renewal process and maintains insurance certificates and other documents
Works with external accountants on annual audit and tax returns
Assists with the annual budgeting process
Manage cash flow of property management company
Prepare monthly financial statement for management company
Process biweekly payroll, including entering and coordinating employee reimbursements and monthly phone reimbursements.
Assists with additional tasks and reporting, as assigned

Education and Experience Required:
Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field
CPA preferred
2-4 years of experience in accounting required, with 1+ year in a supervisory role a plus
Experience with inter-company transactions or multi-entity environment preferred
Experience in property management, real estate tax, and insurance a plus
Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, accounting systems and payroll systems.
Payroll experience preferred
Well-organized with ability to prioritize
Very good communication and interpersonal skills
