You will serve as an IT SPECIALIST (ENTARCH) of the WB/PROTECTED SATCOM of NAVWARSYSCEN ATLANTIC CHARLESTON SC.
This announcement uses the Modified Direct Hire Authority, Section 1109; PL, 116-92, dated 12/20/2019, to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to certain positions in the competitive service.
You will serve as an Integrated Product Team (IPT) member responsible for executing delegated Technical Authority for all processes, products, and services ensuring compliance with all legal and policy requirements.
You will work on one or more areas such as LAN/WAN Architectures, Routing and Switching, Network based Cybersecurity.
You will be responsible for the identification of network interface and interoperability issues and provides technical expertise and mastery of skills in DoD Networked Communications Systems.
You will prepare issue papers and project plans to address systems design issues with LAN, WAN, and Enterprise network systems.
You will perform technical analysis, including network capacity analysis, requirements, conduct trade studies, and develop requirements documentation, implementation plans, and equipment configurations plans.
Occasional travel - You may be expected to travel for this position.

This position is designated as a Cyber IT/Cybersecurity Workforce position. You must obtain and maintain the credentials as described in SECNAV M-5239.2 for specialty area 651, Advance/Master, within 6 months of appointment.
This position is covered under the Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA). You must be certified as a Career Field Information Technology, Level II. Certification is required within 24 months of appointment.
Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.
Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Designing, developing and integration of Wideband and Protected communications AND experience in one or more of the following areas: as LAN/WAN Architectures, Routing and Switching, Network based Cybersecurity.
Your experience must reflect skills in the following areas: attention to detail, customer service, oral communication, and problem solving.
Attention to detail. IT related experience. Designs, develops, test and implements network services according to support network planning and operations.
Customer service. IT related experience. Identifies and translates customers' requirements into network or computing system requirements and technical solutions.
Oral communication. IT related experience. Advises on project planning and/or system design on LAN, WAN and Enterprise network systems.
Problem solving. IT related experience. Implements, verifies and troubleshoots security enclaves to include firewalls, IDS/IPS, and encryption.
