Customer Service Representative - Chicago, IL (Goose Island)

8:00 am - 5:00 pm
As a Customer Service Representative, you will work in a fast-paced environment coordinating our day-to-day customer-facing interactions internally with our Sales and Dispatch departments. This role supports the efforts of our office by providing visibility and maintaining accurate documentation for all loads. The key responsibilities of this role are to provide clear and concise communication, troubleshoot customer concerns and to pro-actively monitor the movement of freight to ensure customer satisfaction.
What will you do?
Enter new load orders into our proprietary web-based software
Track and trace all load assignments to ensure accuracy and delivery of time-sensitive freight
Initiate “check calls” to track and trace drivers on all pick-ups and deliveries
Communicate with drivers to ensure that on-time service is provided for all customer shipments
Closely monitor freight via multiple detailed websites to ensure accurate delivery times and to notify customers of potential delays
Maintain and collect proper paperwork for each shipment
Work cooperatively with Sales and Dispatch to provide solutions for customers’ needs and resolve issues
What are we looking for?
1-3 years of work experience in customer service, operations, data entry, call center, dispatch or logistics (freight brokerage/logistics experience preferred)
Must have strong attention to detail, ability to analyze, and execute under pressure.
Ability to prioritize, balance, and organize information while completing multiple tasks.
Above average computer literacy and proficiency in Microsoft Excel (vlookup, pivot tables, reports)
Email efficiency: strong writing skills, attention to detail, ability to organize all your written communications in Gmail and Google Drive
Outgoing, engaging, team player
Logistics experience and bachelors degree preferred
