Newport News Behavioral Health Center is a residential and acute program, for males and females ages 11-21, consist of a cognitive behavioral treatment model that encourages youth to safely explore thoughts and feelings related to the development of positive and desirable behavior within their homes and communities. Our programs have been designed to provide each individual resident quality mental health treatment in a safe therapeutic environment. It is the mission of Newport News Behavioral Health Center to promote recovery from the effects of abuse, addiction and other behavioral issues through specialized treatment interventions provided by a community of caring professionals.
Newport News Behavioral Health Center has an excellent career opportunity for a Clinical Intake Coordinator to join our team of dedicated professionals. The Clinical Intake Coordinator serves as the point of contact for the clinical assessment process. Assesses by phones needs of patient, collecting data and assigning clinical liaison for field contact, coordinates all aspects of referral/admission processes and complies referral/admissions statistical data. The Clinical Intake Coordinator is actively involved in department activities, trans-disciplinary team activities and acute care activities to ensure individualized, patient centered health/mental health care for all patient populations admitted for hospitalization. The Clinical Intake Coordinator will maintain relationships with ongoing sources of referral to alternate treatment sources when appropriate.

Requires a Master’s Degree in appropriate Human Services field or Registered Nurse with a valid license in the State of Virginia to practice as an RN. Prefer two (2) years of experience working with adolescents in a psychiatric or acute facility. Situational evaluation and crisis intervention experience preferred.
Evening shift: 3:30 pm to 12:00 midnight.
