Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Revenue Analyst to join our dynamic team!
This entry level role is a great opportunity to learn hotel revenue management and a great first step for those interested in becoming a Director of Revenue Management. As a Revenue Analyst, you will play a vital role in supporting three lifestyle hotels’ revenue management efforts by analyzing market data, assisting with pricing strategies, and contributing to revenue optimization initiatives. This position is fully remote based with occasional travel to each hotel’s market required. This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in revenue management within the hospitality industry.
Responsibilities:
1. Data Analysis and Reporting:
- Assist in analyzing historical and current market data to identify revenue trends, demand patterns, and market segments.
- Compile and prepare reports on revenue performance, market conditions, and competitor analysis.
- Support the monitoring and evaluation of key performance indicators (KPIs) such as occupancy, average daily rate (ADR), and revenue per available room (RevPAR).
2. Pricing Support:
- Collaborate with the revenue management team to assist in setting pricing strategies for different market segments, seasons, and events.
- Conduct basic competitor analysis to ensure the hotel's pricing remains competitive and aligned with market trends.
- Help in implementing pricing adjustments and discounts based on demand fluctuations, occupancy levels, and market conditions.
3. Forecasting Assistance:
- Contribute to the development of revenue forecasts and budget projections based on historical data, market trends, and upcoming events.
- Provide support in preparing revenue budgets and contribute ideas for revenue optimization opportunities.
- Assist in monitoring actual revenue performance against forecasts and identifying any significant deviations.
4. Distribution Channel Management:
- Assist in monitoring and optimizing distribution channels, including online travel agencies (OTAs), global distribution systems (GDS), and direct bookings.
- Learn to evaluate channel performance, commission structures, and promotional activities to maximize revenue and profitability.
- Support efforts to increase direct bookings and contribute to strategies to enhance direct revenue channels.
- Conduct voice and online rate shops to ensure rate parity.
5. System and Technology Utilization:
- Gain familiarity with revenue management systems, property management systems (PMS), and data analysis tools used in the industry.
- Learn to utilize technology platforms to support revenue analysis and decision-making processes.
- Stay updated with industry trends and advancements in revenue management technologies.
Qualifications:
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel or similar data analysis tools.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and generate insights.
Basic knowledge of revenue management principles, pricing strategies, and distribution channels (experience or coursework is a plus).
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members.
Ability to learn quickly, adapt to new systems, and work in a fast-paced environment.
