Position: The receptionist is the first and last person to be in contact with customers. The impression created by the receptionist is very important; it strongly influences how customers feel about SUPERCUTS.
The primary purpose/responsibility of the receptionist is to make sure the customer feels welcomed and comfortable, taking the role of the store's host or hostess. This is done by greeting customers cheerfully and with enthusiasm, making them "feel good" from the moment they enter the store and talking with them while they wait The receptionist knows exactly how the store operates, and has the ability to use common sense in carrying out the Operating Guidelines and ensure all customers are satisfied before leaving the store. The receptionist has a thorough knowledge of your location, menu, products, SUPERCALL program and hours of operation and is able to communicate this information to customers in person and on the phone. It is important for the receptionist to understand that the voice on the other end of the phone is a potential customer if the information is delivered cordially and clearly.
?Duties
Answer the telephone,
Greet customers and explain the menu offerings.
Suggestive selling by offering customers the opportunity to purchase haircare products and additional services.
Write sales tickets.
Estimate wait times, encouraging customers to wait or return as appropriate.
Explain the SUPERCALL program.
Operate the POS, accept payment, give change and provide receipts.
Listen attentively to customer complaints and refer them to the manager.
Keep the reception area, desk, windows, product shelves and floor clean when not serving customers.
Label and stock haircare products.
Balance the cash drawer at the beginning and end of each shift.
Qualifications
Professional Appearance - Since customers form impressions about the professionalism of the staff by evaluating employee appearance, a receptionist's hair style and coloring, makeup, jewelry, nails and overall demeanor should represent the beauty industry favorably.
Outgoing/Animated/Confident Personality - Because the receptionist makes the first contact with each customer, it is vital that this person be warm and friendly. This position requires a person who truly enjoys working with people.
Communication Skills - The ability to clearly explain services, product lines, hours of operation and to listen effectively to customers is critical to this position.
Good Phone Manner - Whether or not a potential customer eventually comes in often depends upon the receptionist's ability to effectively communicate over the telephone. Good voice tone and the ability to articulate on the phone are vital.

Flexibility and Availability - It is important to determine whether or not applicants will be flexible to the store's scheduling needs.
