The Accounts Payable Manager will manage, plan, and direct the workflow, daily operations, and the continual development of systems and processes of the Accounts Payable Department. In this role, the Accounts Payable Manager will maintain the highest levels of customer service, while communicating and solving complex problems within the department and with other departments, managers, employees, auditors, and outside agencies. The Accounts Payable Manager recommends changes in methods of procedures to improve the efficiency of the accounts payable department and will lead the department as the company continues to implement SAP.
Essential Job Responsibilities
Ensure timely and accurate processing of all vendor, intercompany and employee payments.
Prepare monthly accruals and related reconciliations.
Serve as the technical expert for Accounts Payable in each of the company’s ERP systems.
Maintain internal controls for accounting procedures that ensure accurate posting of AP related transactions.
Maintain communication and resolve problems with other corporate departments, managers, employees, auditors, and various outside agencies.
Identify areas for opportunities to streamline processes by continually reviewing how work is performed and implement appropriate changes.
Serve as a resources to staff, department heads and others for interpreting policies, procedures and regulations relating to accounts payable.
Collaborate with Information Technology and SAP finance resources on department needs, issue resolution, upgrades and testing.
Maintain standards of excellence and standardization of accounts payable processes, including benchmarking and performance evaluations.
Participate in development, implementation of projects, tasks and/or initiatives that align with management’s goals.
Manage training and development of the technical skills of the accounts payable team.
Prepare annual 1099 reporting.

Two or four-year degree in Accounting or business field preferred.
Minimum of 10 years’ experience in accounts payable, preferably within manufacturing. 5 years’ experience leading and developing departmental staff. Experience with system implementation and/or process improvements.
Ability to sit for extended periods of time at a desk working and/or attending meetings with period breaks.
Must be able to move throughout the office and/or manufacturing area and talk, hear or otherwise communicate with employees, management, customers, suppliers and others.
May occasionally life and/or move up to 10 pounds.
Employee will be required to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when working on the plant floor.
Occasional travel will be expected.
