We are currently hiring a Senior Manager Systems Engineering to join the Lower-Tier Air and Missile Defense Sensor (LTAMDS) Systems Engineering team in Tewksbury, MA.
The LTAMDS Systems Engineering Cross Product Team (SE CPT) Lead will represent the interests of the LTAMDS franchise within the Land Warfare and Air Defense Mission Area. The SE CPT Lead will meet/exceed objectives by leading an engineering team with the goal of promoting cost efficiencies through greater reuse, commonality and productivity shared across the multiple contracts within the franchise; Urgent Material Release (UMR), Pre-Planned Program Improvements (P3I), and Internally Funded Research and Development (IRAD). The SE CPT Lead will be required to manage work scope performed by the internal Sensor Product Line teams and several external sub-contractors across geographic sites. Additionally, this position requires the leadership of the design and development of the system interfaces for the multitude of systems (sensors, command and control, weapon) that the radar is required to work in concert with.
Provide technical engineering leadership to a systems engineering team of 50+ engineers on the UMR contract, with an extension to 90+ engineers across the P3I, IRAD contracts
Establish and manage execution plans for work scope with a total budget of $150M+ for the UMR, P3I and IRAD contracts
Primary interface for the Program Office and Army customer communications; must be able to clearly communicate issues and resolutions on matters that impact the ability of the program to meet its deliverables and milestones in to producing the first 6 production ready units (PRUs)
Plan out and lead the incremental break-in of P3I upgrades into the 16 Lot PRU program
Prepare material and lead successful completion of Internal Reviews, Gate Reviews, Customer TIMs, Tracking Books, Quarterly EACs
Support the development, review and release of all system requirements, interface requirements and design documents and maintenance of those documents
Support the implementation of system design, analysis, algorithm development, modeling and simulation, and integration and test activities across the programs
Define the staffing, engineering process and tool requirements for the SE team to realize program execution efficiencies
Work across the array, radar, software and power adaptation IPT organizations to deliver products on time in support of building PRUs
Manage and technically engage with major subcontractors and partners to ensure program deliverables
Support the capture of new business and understanding the technical roadmaps and product line roadmaps ensuring they are reflected in program planning and execution
This position requires an active U.S. Security Clearance as of day one of employment. Except in rare circumstances, only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
U.S. Citizenship is required
Active/Current US Secret Security Clearance.
12+ years of related work experience
Experience with radar design or integrating radars with combat systems across multiple platforms
Experience leading engineering teams
Ability to present to complex data to senior leadership succinctly and efficiently
Direct experience managing resources with multi-million dollar annual budgets
Experience using program management tools such as Earned Value Management System (EVMS), Integrated Master Plan (IMP) / Integrated Master Schedule (IMS), and Risk and Opportunity Management to identify issues and develop recommended courses of action to management
Bachelor’s Degree in STEM ( Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics) or related Technical Degree
Prior experience with leading and conducting radar trade studies, radar system development and design, RF systems requirements development and management, and radar system integration and test
Proven abilities as a technical leader who can develop work plans and drive execution
Department of Defense (DoD), and/or commercial and non-traditional customer sets
Proven ability to develop effective internal and external customer relationships and ensure customer satisfaction and continued business
Excellent communication, technical writing, oral presentation, and interpersonal skills
Experience in leading and executing the design and development of large system architectures
Master's degree in Engineering, Physics, or related discipline
