The Photography Manager – Creative Services role is responsible for leading a team of Producers and managing projects associated with photography production and acts as a main liaison between the Creative Services team and vendor studios. This position works and coordinates closely with internal team members/customers and studios to manage the Producer team in the production of creative asset needs for the company to meet deadlines and budgets. The role manages a team that leads in gathering information needed to complete projects and communicating details to our studio partners to support the photo process. In addition, this role manages financial information including budgets, forecasts, estimates and invoices for the photography department. This position would be expected to show leadership and utilize strong production, communication and creative problem-solving skills to successfully manage a team to deliver successful projects. The Photography Manager implements long and short-term strategies to ensure goals are met and processes are optimized for efficiencies.
MAJOR TASKS, RESPONSIBILITES AND KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
65% On time, cost effective product photography and accurate completion of production tasks generating advertising media that is commercially successful.
15% On time, cost effective product photography and accurate completion of advertising production tasks generating advertising media that is commercially successful.
10% Other duties as assigned.
10% Effective supervision of personnel.
NATURE AND SCOPE
Accountable for direct supervision of the work activities of others. Planning, monitoring and reviewing work of subordinates is required. This may include direct supervision of a shift or the coordination of multiple work groups. Makes recommendations concerning selection, termination, performance appraisal and professional development.
ENVIRONMENTAL JOB REQUIREMENTS
Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.
Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.
Additional Environmental Job Requirements:
Must be eighteen years of age or older.
Must be legally permitted to work in the United States.
Additional Minimum Qualifications:
Clarity of vision at 20 inches or less with the ability to bring objects into sharp focus while reading a computer screen.
The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a bachelor's degree program or equivalent degree in a field of study related to the job.
Years of Relevant Work Experience: 5 years
Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.
Experience in photography and/or video production and team leadership
Experience in ecommerce, creative, and/or advertising
Ability to organize projects/processes/budgets across many business situations and projects
Strong supervisory and organizational skills
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to work in fast-paced agile environment
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
