As a Case Management Consultant, you will be personable and caring with both patients and hospital staff members. You will have excellent written and verbal communication skills, and possess the flexibility and organization skills necessary for this challenging role.
Specific qualifications for this interim manager position include:
Minimum 7 years’ experience in an Hospital setting (acute care)
Minimum 3 years’ experience in a Management role within Case Management
Strong communication, organization, interpersonal, problem-solving, and counseling skills
Develops and implements the philosophies, policies, procedures, quality management/outcome measures, and goals for the case management department
Coordinates activities to ensure a smooth continuum of care process throughout the organization
Ensures on-going case management, resource management, and placement of patients to the appropriate level of care
Trains and develops the case management staff and motivates them to accomplish department goals and objectives
Provides consultation and education to facility leadership, clinical and financial personnel, and medical staff members related to case management including utilization management and discharge planning practices
Develops and oversees the annual case management budget
Establishes and maintains an effective communication and reporting process with the medical staff, administration, nursing and other ancillary departments that will allow them to participate in achieving clinical and financial performance goals
Understands, complies with and communicates expected business ethics, state and federal regulatory requirements to department staff; assures that those supervised are compliant with expectations
Establishes and maintains appropriate measures for staffing, productivity, compliance, quality, accuracy and customer service
Works with internal and external customers to promote efficient and appropriate utilization of clinical resources
Provides leadership and direction to staff members
Proficiency in Microsoft applications such as Word, PowerPoint and Outlook
Ability to travel consistently
As a Consultant / Interim Director, you will travel across the country and work with hospital leadership teams to improve their organizational and patient care processes.
Your duties in this Consultant role will include:
Meeting with key hospital stakeholders to identify areas for improvement or productivity enhancement
Developing an action plan that addresses case management, resource planning, and patient care challenges
Utilizing metrics and analysis to track progress and summarize achievements
Providing case management consultation and education to hospital leadership and medical staff regarding utilization and discharge planning practices
Developing and managing annual case management budgets
Providing overall leadership and direction to case managers
