Yokogawa, a leading company in measurement, control, and information, is seeking an experienced Product Manager to develop and execute business strategies for our Test & Measurement products in our North American market. This position will be responsible for all aspects of assigned products line throughout its entire lifecycle; including but not limited to, annual financial planning, research and development, product development, product release, promotion, target markets, applications, competition, pricing, inventory, service, presales support, after sale support, sales channel training and support staff training.
Create annual product business plan, define action items and track results through the annual business plan dashboard.
Thorough technical knowledge of product design, key features, competitive comparison, applications, target markets, and strengths and weaknesses of assigned product compared to major competitors.
Must have strong communications skills to effective communicate with customers, sales reps, application engineers, and other inside support staff.
Must have a thorough understanding of YCA’s regional market requirements for assigned products and must drive YHQ to include these requirements in the design of existing or future products.
Must work with YHQ and global product marketing teams to develop and launch all product related promotional activities which include cataloging literature, advertising, web content, press release, sales news and other policies.
Maintain and communicate a product roadmap for assigned products.
Develop and maintain sales tools such as competitor comparisons, product configurators, application notes, quoting tools, promotional videos, seminars, webinars, corporate website and others.
Develop and maintain materials and programs for training sales teams, product support teams and customers.
Work with YCA’s production control, manufacturing and finance teams to maintain proper inventory levels.
Work with the Technical Support group to continuously improve the efficiency of technical support and maintain all technical data and documents in an easy to access location.
Manage pricing and part numbers for assigned product.
Meet or Exceed financial goals.
Performance to plan through orders and profit for assigned products.
Execution of annual business plan for assigned product or products.
Must have excellent interpersonal/communicative skills (both written and verbal).
Must convey a professional, competent image.
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical engineering or equivalent experience.
More than 5 years of practical experience; preferably eight to ten years. Knowledge and working experience related to Electrical Power, Power Electronics (motors & drives, inverters, and lighting applications) or similar industries would be a preference.
