About the Role
HARMAN’s Embedded Audio group consists of a portfolio of the most innovative audio input and rendering solutions available. As the Sr. Digital Signal Processing (DSP) Engineer, you will bring software development insights to this team to drive the application of the most innovative audio solutions on the planet. Collaborating with the Harman Embedded Audio (HEA) Engineering and Sales teams in Northridge, CA and our HEA development center in Shenzhen, China, the Embedded Software Engineer will marshal all HARMAN’s technical might to drive products and technologies through the New Product Introduction process.
You will report to the Director of Engineering and Project Management.
What You Will Do
Participate in the design and development of new technology and products for HEA relying heavily on practical experience and analytical modeling efforts.
Help determine the feasibility of new software and embedded hardware, ideas, and products proposed or ideated.
Design and fully develop embedded software related to audio processing on MCUs and DSPs.
Optimize prototype and/or design parameters to maximize performance - one objective being the reduction of the development cycle time.
Predict the performance of new or modified product prototypes - prior to their fabrication and testing.
What You Need
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering.
5 years of experience in advanced programming languages including Java and C++.
5 years of experience in embedded software engineering.
Experience with advanced microprocessors and DSPs.
Experience with Digital Signal Processing Audio hardware and software.
What is Nice to Have
Master’s degree in Computer Science (with a specialty in Embedded Software)
Experience with small low-power processors.
Experience with porting algorithms onto MCU hardware.
Experience with Windows, Android, iOS.
Strategically and operationally strong; Ability to synthesize complex information into a simple strategy and then execute and communicate against this strategy.
What Makes You Eligible
Be willing to travel up to 10%, domestic and international travel.
Be willing to work in an office in Northridge, CA.
