POSITION SUMMARY

The Sales Associate (SA) will provide additional staffing to the Council Boutiques for planned and unplanned absences of the Office Coordinator. The SA will provide customer service as needed to service center visitors, volunteers and staff.

ACCOUNTABILITIES

Report to the requesting service center within Council jurisdiction to provide coverage for the Office Coordinator on an on-call as needed part-time basis.
Perform cashiering functions, receipt of money and deposits and other general boutique operations in support of membership.
Perform the POS opening and closing as required.
Maintain working knowledge of the Retail Management System (RMS) and the Point of Sale system (POS) while adhering to financial policies, procedures and process documentation.
Opening and closing of their Boutique according to local council shop hours.
Greet and render courteous and professional service to visitors and staff
Answer multiple line phones and provide accurate information in response to inquiries and/or refer callers to appropriate staff.
Ensure proper tracking of service center equipment checkout items including library materials, flags, home studies and local council vehicle
Behave in a courteous and professional manner at all times.
Provide timely and accurate business support to staff and volunteers during council product sales.
Take reservations from volunteers for local service center meeting rooms.
Notify proper staff of local service center building maintenance and repairs as needed.
Notify proper staff of local service center equipment (such as phones, copier) problems as needed.
Ensure the success of the council by working in partnership with functional units, contributing to a team environment and subscribing to the overall objectives set forth in the council’s strategic plan.
Ensure diversity and pluralism is embraced and incorporated into the work of the council.
Other duties as assigned.

Required Experience:
QUALIFICATIONS

Be a currently registered member of Girl Scouts of the USA or willing to become one.
High school diploma or equivalent; minimum of 1 year office experience with demonstrated ability to multi-task and above average attention to detail.
Experience as a receptionist or a customer service role.
Possess the capacity to successfully complete a criminal and background search as a required condition of employment.
Demonstrate excellent communication skills and human relation skills (tact and discretion with individuals and confidential information).
Exhibit ability to work independently and be self-motivated in a team environment.
Possess strong planning, organizational, and recording keeping skills.
Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills, including ability to resolve conflict and maturity of judgment.
Possess good basic math skill and the ability to make change.
Possess the ability and willingness to work a flexible schedule including evenings/weekends.
Ability to travel within council jurisdiction as job requires on short notice.
Possess proficiency with Microsoft Office, Microsoft Windows, POS and Internet Explorer technology.
Exhibit the ability to provide positive customer service to girls and volunteers.
Demonstrate a commitment to the mission of the Girl Scout movement and ability to communicate the mission to others.
Possess a valid driver’s license and minimum state insurance coverage that meets the council insurance company’s requirement for coverage, and reliable transportation in the event a council vehicle is unavailable to report for duty.
Exhibit desire to improve and develop professionally.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Must be able to speak to answer phone and greet customers.
Must be able to type/enter data.
Walking, standing, bending, stooping, reaching and climbing ladder. Must be able to sit at a work station and/or a computer screen for up to 2 hours at a time.
Occasional exposure to seasonal weather conditions.
Lifting 20-30 pounds or more with assistance of a hand cart and/or co-worker assistance.
