We are currently seeking a Senior Statistician/Biostatistician. This position is located in Portsmouth, Virginia. Position is contingent upon award of work.
Establishes data requirements from non-technical customers, writes the applicable code and delivers results in a comprehensible format. Responsible for ensuring the statistical validity and epidemiological applicability of study activities.
Designs and performs a variety of detailed biostatistical analyses and applies knowledge of advanced statistical software (e.g., SAS) to tasks that involve large amount of data or extensive data cleaning.
Consults with others for the planning of the study, in the analysis of data and the interpretation of findings.
Organizes and manages all statistical aspects of successful research projects.
Provides responsible, competent technical advice to project and operations management.
Support preparation, presentation, and submission of research grant and contract proposals.
Contribute to scientific dissemination of study results to the internal research team, to clients, in peer reviewed journals and in presentations at scientific conferences/meetings.
THE FOLLOWING REQUIREMENTS MUST BE MET TO BE CONSIDERED FOR THIS POSITION:
Master’s Degree in Business/Statistics with at least 12 credit hours of Statistics, Biostatistics or Epidemiology.
Minimum 5 years’ experience in Biostatistics or Epidemiology.
Expertise and mastery of the SAS language and/or other statistical packages.
SAS Certified Clinical Trials Programmer Using SAS 9, SAS Certified Advanced Programmer for SAS 9, SAS Certified Base Programmer for SAS 9.
All employees will be required to possess or have the ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Defense Secret security clearance.
THE FOLLOWING IS DESIRED, BUT NOT REQUIRED TO BE CONSIDERED FOR THIS POSITION:
Experience with DATA Step Processing, SQL Processing, SAS Macro Language, SAS/STAT, SAS/GRAPH, CDISC Standards, Data Management with Large Datasets (ETL).
Ability to apply and interpret analytical and mathematical tools through the programming environment to address complex issues involving multiple table structures with complex query designs.
