Job Description

Develop and manage the execution of the global travel category strategies (e.g. airline, car, ground, meetings, online booking adoption for CDK-I and communication). Partner with key stakeholders to identify global / regional category spend to maximize sourcing strategies across regions. Set supplier KPI’s /objectives and manage key supplier performance globally and across each regions. Provide global travel program guidance to CDK business stakeholders and serve as internal business consultant. Lead cost saving initiatives across the organization, while maintaining a high level of traveler engagement and satisfaction. Provide direction and support to direct reports, while ensuring employee engagement.

Position Responsibilities & Essential functions

Define and drive global category strategies and improvement plans to optimize CDK travel spend.
Enhance category expertise by leveraging external networks, business stakeholders, and key suppliers
Translate improvement objectives (efficiency, savings, etc.) into viable category business plans
Define the sourcing strategy.
Partners w/ Compliance to review travel policy and makes needed recommendations to ensure travel savings goals are met.
Lead and conduct sourcing events in travel category
Develop and maintains travel industry information to identify key travel supplier based on organizational needs.
Partner w /cross-functional / global stakeholders to develop selection criteria
Conduct supplier negotiations
Support development of Travel team members and support global teams
Partner w/ internal customers and key stakeholders for inclusion
Interfaces with internal businesses to determine travel requirements, define demand management strategies, and issue resolution
Engages key stakeholders for inclusion in sourcing strategy development and execution
Manages ongoing vendor relationships with business and functional leads
Acts as a liaison between business / functional travel liaisons (country level) and business divisions
Manages communication of relevant travel related information to internal stakeholders
Lead supplier meetings
Implements improvement ideas with travel suppliers
Drive tracking and reporting for category spend and saving initiatives.
Track supplier KPI/SLA levels and traveler support of preferred suppliers
Uses procurement tools and systems to create operational efficiency and visibility
Collaborate w/Legal, GSO Office, Risk Management, Compliance, AP, Tax and other departments to ensure travel program alignment and appropriate contract language.
Negotiates skillfully in situations with both internal and external parties; can win concessions while maintaining relationships; can be direct as well as diplomatic
Partner w/CDK-I leaders to ensure travel needs are met and travelers are satisfied with contracted suppliers.
Identify travel industry technology, which can assist in realizing travel savings, while enhancing the traveler experience.( e.g. Rocket Trip, Trip Action, RoadMap)
Develop and maintain accurate training documentation, SOP’s, FAQ’s and functional specification documents (e.g. Meetings Management Training, Concur CDK-I training )
Build comprehensive CDK travel communication plan (e.g. Travel Newsletter, Connect travel related articles)
Lead travel supplier quarterly reviews.
Lead weekly supplier conference calls
Lead travel program alignment of merged and acquired businesses
Lead additional initiatives as requested.

Qualifications & Requirements

BA/BS Degree
Experience in leading global travel programs and adhoc global initiatives
Global program and project management leadership
Expert level contract negotiator
Analytical skillset
Demonstrated global leadership skills
Excellent communication skills, both written, oral and meeting facilitation
Demonstrated development and execution of Global Category Strategies
Demonstrate Leadership of global, air, car and hotel sourcing initiatives.
Moderate knowledge level of B2B Payment Systems (e.g. SAP Ariba, Zycus, PeopleSoft)

PREFERRED ATTRIBUTES & Qualifications

10-15 years’ experience in the travel industry with an emphasis of Global Travel Program Management and /or GLP, CCTE /GBTA ( Global Business Travel Association) Designation
Work independently with minimal management oversight
Able to lead and drive change management
Demonstrated team leader during high levels of ambiguity
TMC experience as Global Account manager
Lead global travel virtual teams
