Superintendent for all matters of general employment
Building Principal/Assistant Principal when on assignment TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Per diem, at rates currently established by the School Committee. EVALUATION: Annually in accordance with provisions of the School Committee Policy on Evaluation. JOB GOAL:
Provide daily substitute coverage, as assigned.
Manage student learning related to the teachers duties.
Candidate will fulfill the duties, responsibilities and expectations described in the North Smithfield Public Schools Substitute Teacher Handbook and building level expectations. PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide classroom supervision to ensure health, welfare, and safety of all students.
Maintain high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality of student and school personnel information.
Dress appropriately.
Report to office upon arrival at school; check mailbox of absent teacher for materials requiring immediate attention.
Review all plans and schedules to be followed during the teaching day.
Maintain established routines and procedures of the school and classroom assigned.
Teach the lessons outlined in the classroom teachers lesson plans.
Effectively contribute to and manage the individual education plans for students with special needs.
Create and maintain a climate of respect and fairness for all students.
Display problem solving, cooperative negotiating skills and conflict resolution strategies.
Write a report about work completed at the end of each teaching day for absent teacher.
Report all student injuries, accidents, illnesses, and discipline problems to the appropriate authority.
Dismiss all students from the classroom before leaving the building.
Collect student assignments and materials for teachers review; return to proper locations.
Turn any building property back to proper authority.
Model non-discriminatory practices in all activities.
Other duties as assigned by the Principal/Assistant Principal.
