Job Summary:
As a Paramedic with First Priority Mobile Healthcare, you will be responsible for providing advanced life support and medical care to patients in emergency situations. You will work 24-hour shifts, responding to a variety of emergencies. Your role involves rapid response, patient assessment, advanced medical intervention, and transportation to healthcare facilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Emergency Response:
- Respond promptly to emergency calls and provide immediate medical care.
- Assess patients’ conditions and determine appropriate medical treatment.
- Administer medications, intravenous fluids, and advanced airway management.
- Perform CPR, defibrillation, and other life-saving procedures as necessary.
- Stabilize patients and prepare them for transport to medical facilities.
- Patient Care:
- Provide compassionate and efficient patient care.
- Monitor and record vital signs and medical histories.
- Communicate with patients and their families to explain procedures and provide reassurance.
- Transportation:
- Safely transport patients to hospitals or other healthcare facilities.
- Ensure proper patient handling and transfer to medical staff upon arrival.
- Maintain communication with medical personnel en route to the hospital.
- Documentation:
- Accurately document patient information, treatment provided, and response times.
- Complete all required reports and forms in a timely manner.
- Equipment Maintenance:
- Inspect and maintain emergency medical equipment and supplies.
- Ensure the ambulance is clean, stocked, and ready for the next call.
- Training and Development:
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development.
- Stay updated on the latest medical practices and protocols.
- Assist in the training of new paramedics and EMTs.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED.
- Valid state Paramedic certification.
- Current CPR, ACLS, and PALS certifications.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Paramedic preferred.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to work 24-hour shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to remain calm and perform effectively in high-stress situations.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and carry heavy equipment and patients.
- Stamina to work long shifts and respond to emergencies at any time.
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including bending, kneeling, and standing for extended periods.
