What you’ll be doing...
We are seeking an attorney to support the Verizon Consumer Group. VCG markets, sells, and supports Verizon’s consumer voice, data, and video services across the United States. This position provides a motivated attorney the opportunity to tackle a broad range of issues across a wide range of clients within VCG, in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, partnering at times with other Verizon attorneys, both within and outside of VCG.
Support the Customer Experience and Transformation group by providing legal advice and counsel taking into account consumer law, regulatory, privacy, antitrust, employment and information security issues. Advise group on operational issues, and lead training and compliance efforts.
Provide legal guidance during development of internal systems used by the digital, sales and support channels, including with respect to information security and privacy.
Monitor and provide legal guidance on sales practices and customer experience, including assisting teams who address customer complaints and billing issues.
Provide legal support on systems issues to sales and technical support centers.
Contribute to the continued development of digital marketing, sales and support channels, and mobile applications.
Review and revise methods and procedures that apply across groups within Verizon Consumer Markets to minimize legal risk.
Support compliance with regulatory requirements.
What we’re looking for...
You’ll need to have:
JD degree and six or more years of relevant work experience.
Bar membership and needed licenses.
Even better if you have:
Six or more years of experience in technology or telecommunications matters with knowledge of consumer law, privacy, information security and regulatory issues.
Eligibility for limited In-House Counsel Licensure for New Jersey or Virginia.
Capability to be a self-starter and ability to work independently.
Experience in marketing, point of sales systems, and/or app usage and development.
Strong written and oral communication skills.
