American Express Global Commercial Services (GCS) is the leading provider of payments for corporations of all sizes globally. GCS supports business owners with products and services to help them run and grow their companies. The U.S. Client Group (USCG) organization leads account development for all Middle Market GCP card members in addition to a Large Market segment within USCG. We provide phone-based client management to our highest potential clients.

This self-motivated individual will be part of the Large Market Centralized Engagement Team proactively placing outbound calls to existing Corporate Card clients, with focus on charge volume growth and client retention through consultative client interactions.
Making outbound calls to key client’s contacts in a defined customer based (Large Market Corporate)
Work with marketing partners to target key event based trigger initiatives
Collaborate with face to face field partners to gain additional charge volume and product expansion
Quickly establish client rapport and deliver key messages
Identify client needs, providing appropriate solutions and resolving/redirecting client concerns
Utilize consultative selling/negotiation skills to achieve results
Be a key player in driving the success of the team in a fast-paced environment
Prior consultative sales and account development experience, preferably in an outbound call environment
Proficiency and excellent verbal and written business communication skills
Must have the ability to build a value proposition through effective probing and understanding of the customers’ business model, in addition to strong presentation / negotiation skills and the ability to build rapport and credibility
Demonstrated ability to collaborate and influence external clients, identify potential client growth opportunities and drive results through creative problem solving
Effective account development with proven experience in building and managing an effective "pipeline" of growth opportunities
Must possess the ability to build and leverage relationships with internal colleagues to achieve desired results
Ability to quickly adjust work style to new targeted client interactions, leverage effective listening and probing techniques to act on opportunities in a fast paced, changing environment
Must be highly organized, self-motivated and possess excellent time management with strong attention to detail
Must excel in managing rigorous daily, weekly, and monthly call plan and strategies for achieving results
Extreme client centric focus on exceeding client expectations while delivering on goals
Broad industry awareness of external events, factors and competitors that could impact American Express client partnerships
Desire a working knowledge of Large Market clients in Global Commercial Payments with revenue of 300M+
